Tigger's results.

Monday night K took Tigger to the emergency pet hospital. They waited a couple of hours... then all sorts of tests. Then more waiting. Nothing wrong with her mouth or teeth. Kidney count's slightly elevated but not out of the ordinary, apparantly. She had a fever and was dehydrated so they gave her sub cutaneous hydration.
They can't figure out what's wrong wither.
After the hydration she's feeling a bit better. Purrs to K's pets. Growls at King David as is customary. She's not eating much kibbles but has been given the OK for boiled chicken and tuna with tuna water. She's eating the latter.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Aw, I hpoe your kitty is OK. It's so tough when pets aren't feeling good.

you may want to have her regular vet get a baseline on her kidney function as that is an issue in older kitties
If she is getting dehydrated on a regular basis most vets will give you the bags for subcu hydration to do at home.
My roommate in seattle had a tigar who put up with these ministrations and lived to the ripe age of 26 (she also battled all the toms in the area, though as she got frail they all just came to pay respects, kowtowing to her hisses and never lifting a paw against her)

I recommend another vet visit for baselines and another check in a month if she is not returning to her glorious catness

Crossing fingers, toes, paws, and claws for Tigger.

Things that my geriatric household diva eats that Tigger might like:

Gerber Baby Food - my kitty likes the lamb, ham, and beef flavors the most. Because it's the consistency of pudding, it's easy for her to eat, and it gives her good doses of protein.

"Cat Sip" - this is a product I found in a local store (you can order it online, too). It's boxed milk that's lactose-free (to aid digestion), and it has taurine added, which I'm given to understand is often in the subcutaneous fluids that one gets from the vet to give to older kitties. My aging girl slurps the CatSip milk down like crazy.

you've got great kitty advice!
As long as the baby food is just beef or chicken, etc. Onions are toxic for kitties, and they like the plain meat better anyway.
I've never heard of adding taurine to bags of subcutaneous fluids. They get taurine from eating meat. Without it they can develop dilated cardiomyopathy and/or retinal atrophy.
Usually kitties with dehydration issues get bags of LRS or Normosol. Kitties with kidney issues sometimes get bags with KCL added.
And I'll have to look into Cat Sip! It sounds wonderful! It sounds like something I could recommend to clients with aging kitties!
